Case studies on partnership against hunger programs in the Philippines presented in a global forum

The World Rural Forum (WRF), in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), organized a series of Global Webinars: Towards Innovative Policies to Enhance the Transformative Role of Family Farmers on 11 and 13 July 2023.

Ms. Katlea Zairra Itong, National Coordinator, PhilDHRRA, presented an in-country case study on Partnership Against Hunger Program (PAHP) Convergence Program and the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger Program (ePAHP) in the Philippines, an AsiaDHRRA project in collaboration with The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) and FAO, which seeks to enhance the exchange of knowledge and best practices of family farming to contribute to the UN Decade of Family Farming (UNDFF) Pillar of Global Action Plan.

The objective of the Day 1 webinar is to explore the existing policies supporting family farming and see how these policies perceive the complex nature of family farming, the milestones, and the lessons learned. It also aims to highlight the recommendations to scale up the results and innovative approaches addressing the economic, environmental, and social conditions of family farmers and their communities.
